Amazed to learn from one of his TED lectures that Sir Ken Robinson had been placed in a ‘special’ school after he was affected by polio as a young child. What was even more amazing was that a teacher one day worked out that his brain was quite ‘functional’ – just as Ken had worked out the rest of the class were also ‘functional’ – but in a whole lot of different ways. It explained for me where his passion for the child and their multitude of ways of learning came from.
